Segmatic is a technology-focused digital marketing agency providing managed services, software solutions and consultancy on paid search advertising to clients including 2K Games, TM Lewin and Photobox.
Our paid search methodology achieves outstanding results for our clients. We built the Segmatic Platform to implement our methodology, to automate everything that can be automated so we can spend our time thinking about the big picture. The core of our business is managed services - a dedicated Segmatic team assigned to run a client’s paid search campaigns. We also provide consultancy services to a limited number of clients, and in Q2 we will launch the Segmatic Platform as a self-serve solution.
About the Team/Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join Segmatic and to become an accomplished BI Developer. This is an 18-month programme in which you will home your technical and analytical skills while gaining commercial knowledge and understanding of the digital marketing industry.
The position is ideal for a hard-working and ambitious person who wants to join a fast-growing start-up. You will join a team of exceptional, creative, analytical people from diverse backgrounds who have operated at the highest levels of eCommerce in Ireland, the UK and the USA.
The role demands a level of creativity and initiative, finding solutions to gather, analyse and disseminate data from new and emerging sources. We want someone with a computer science background and a hunger to grow their development skills. This programme is divided into three parts in six-month blocks.
Months 1-6 : Training and Development
- Technical training and qualification exams
- Internal commercial training
- Long-term projects to build and solidify your skills
- BI teamwork
Months 7-12: Project Work and Team Work
- BI Developer projects
- Technical and commercial on-the-job training
- BI teamwork
Months 13-18: BI Analyst
- Fully integrated BI team member
- Ad -hoc project work
- Ad-hoc technical development
- Supporting the company’s development function with long-term planning for BI solutions, and helping to develop big-picture solutions to emerging BI challenges.
- Developing robust, easy-to-use, insightful BI solutions with a develop once, use many times approach.
- Managing and maintaining Segmatic’s automated BI environment.
Desired Skills & Experience:
You will have a balance of most of the following qualities, and hopefully a few that we haven’t thought of:
Computer Science experience: At least a 2.1 in Computer Science or relevant course. Ideally has some project or placement experience in industry.
Technical ability: You have a passion for technology, and for developing solutions that are reliable and stand the test of time. You aim to create scalable, robust, production-ready code in Python, C#, Java or another object-oriented language, and you have an interest or understanding of what’s happening ‘under the hood’. Knowledge and experience of API programming is highly desired.
Numerate, analytical, and curious: Comfortable with analysing and drawing insights from large data sets to solve problems and continuously improve the way Segmatic develops business opportunities. Must have qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
Agile learning: You can quickly pick up the information and skills you need to deliver results, and effectively disseminate information and learning to your team.
Strong Communication: Can effectively communicate to all audiences through clear and compelling arguments based on evidence, logic, and observation. Listens well and asks good questions. Enjoys engaging with people. Able to write, edit, and proof.
Accountability: Happy to take on responsibility to set and deliver on goals. Brings energy, commitment, enthusiasm and focus to their work. Comfortable managing competing priorities.
